Got an iPad, good app for playing backing tracks live?

Has anyone been using an iPad to play backing tracks during a live show? I am talking about 4-5 minute long backing tracks. I could just use itunes, but there must surely be a better way with some more control of the tracks?

How are you guys doing it?

No one?

Hi,

I have an a application for sale that does exactly what you want. It's available in the app store now: LiveTrax Pro.

It's very clear and easy to use. You can play from playlists you create in iTunes or the iPod app, or you can just play songs ad-hoc. It stops at the end of every song, it can automatically queue up the next song, and the potentially embarrassing buttons require two pushes to activate.

Please take a look at it. I hope it's what you're after.

Thanks,
Geoff.

We use a 7th generation iPod Classic to play back some of our faster synth tracks during live shows. Be sure to keep the tracks fully uncompressed and turn off any EQ settings before the show.

Oh no! My entire post was deleted by vbulletin software. How frustrating.

In summary, my questions are

Instead of paying hundreds of dollars for karaoke anywhere app music,

1. What is the best live stage singing microphone setup for iPad 4 (preferably Bluetooth)?
2. What is the best app for voice manipulation, and music playback of camera roll, YouTube, audio, video etc including YouTube downloader so I can instantly use YouTube for requests and make sure songs go onto my ipad hard drive? Yokee is the closest I've seen, but mic fx are no good and it's too basic for ipad power plus there is no download/camera roll function.

I'm not interested in using audio tracks for my performances, only video.

Please help, thanks.

Lets hope this comment saves.

3rd time lucky...

I know it's a few years after this thread started but it might help someone looking. My Dad's app, OneTrack, is a player for backing tracks. There's no autoplay and you can edit your playlists etc., it just makes it all a little easier!

Have a look if interested anyway

Don't know any of these apps, but you might want to take a look:

For backing tracks playback on iPad you can use Pauser Pro - my modest audio player.

Pauser Pro takes tracks from Music.app.
Just load the tracks from your PC iTunes to Music and they will be available in Pauser Pro.

Pauser Pro is an audio player with the additional convenient features.
Auto pause, song's lyrics display, crossfade and fade out.

A user friendly interface and intuitive controls make Pauser Pro an essential player for experienced musicians.
If you need the music and lyrics source, if you work on stage – Pauser Pro is the solution that will allow you to think only about your ideal performance.

Now you can try a free version of Pauser Lite.
It is a full-featured version but with the one limitation – you can't make the Queue of more than 3 songs.

Pauser Pro

Victor Kaysin, developer of Pauser Pro

Old post but I have used soundcue. It's an iOS app. Pretty amazing.

Alot of suggestions here. Is there anywhere I can load several stems/audiofiles and also mix the backtracks live and then use a playlist?

This one: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/loop...664688175?mt=8

Been using it for 6 months, it's flawless. You can upload your tracks as stems if you want so you can alter the mix on the fly. You can change tempo and key. You can add click-only tracks. You can loop and skip song sections (you'll even get a queue voice giving everyone the countdown). Or you can just upload simple backing tracks. Easy to change the set list, you can setup auto-skip after certain songs, etc.

Also, it works with multiple outputs (we use this to get stereo output via out 1&2 with click on 3&4, on a Zoom U24 USB interface)

It's the best

And it's... totally free, no ads, nothing (they make money by selling high quality backing tracks for it, but you get something like 10Gb to store your own tracks, no questions asked)

OnSong

Been using an iPad 1 for backing tracks for almost ten years now. I used to carry around a folder full of lyrics. Now my lyrics book, notes, light controller and backing track player are all run out of an incredible app called OnSong.

I use SoundCue for Ipad - you can get it at the app store - about 15.00 - great app! SoundBoard was another good one - but the last time I opened it there was a message that said it needed to be updated for the latest ipad operating system update!

Soundcue is a good iOS soundboard app but if you don't need access to its 125 clips the $4.99 lite version handles up to 25 clips.
